Ukrainian Military to Receive January 2026 Payments, with New Support for Families of the Fallen
Ukrainian service members will begin receiving additional monetary compensation for January 2026 starting February 26, 2026. This follows the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine directing all necessary financial resources to military units on February 25. The payments will be processed in the coming days, ensuring all personnel eligible for the additional February disbursements see the funds in their accounts. Reforms to Military Social Protections
In a related development, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has adopted in principle and as a whole Draft Law No. 13646, which reforms the system of social protection for military personnel and their families. A key provision maintains monthly payments of approximately 120,000 UAH to the families of those missing in action. Should a death be confirmed, the state will pay the family the remaining balance to ensure the total assistance reaches 15 million UAH.
The new financial payments and legislative changes aim to enhance the social safety net for service members and their relatives.
