Problems of Military with Housing Rentals at the Front
Ukrainian soldiers are facing serious difficulties regarding housing rentals in frontline areas. According to military serviceman Igor Lutsenko, prices for apartments and houses in these areas exceed those in any elite region of Ukraine.
«Soldiers have nowhere to live. Housing prices in frontline areas are so high that they are comparable to the most elite regions of Ukraine. This is a very serious problem, but unfortunately it does not receive the appropriate public response and attention on social networks», Lutsenko noted.
The serviceman points out that legislation provides for a possible solution to this problem through mandatory housing assignments. However, in practice, this mechanism is not utilized due to the unwillingness of officials to take responsibility.
«The Ukrainian army faces significant challenges in organizing housing for soldiers at the front. There are legislative opportunities to address this problem, but they are not used in practice», Lutsenko summarizes.
