Ukrainian servicemen received new motivational payments for combat results. From now on, the state has provided separate rewards for capturing enemy servicemen and eliminating personnel of the occupying forces. The first stage of updating the contract service system has also started. This was reported by the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
Payments to the Armed Forces of Ukraine: how much will be paid for a prisoner and eliminating the enemy
New rules were approved by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine Resolution No. 768 dated June 12, 2026. They provide for additional monetary rewards for performing combat missions.
Servicemen can receive:
-
100,000 UAH - for capturing an enemy serviceman;
-
15,000 UAH - for eliminating an enemy serviceman.
If a prisoner is captured by a group of servicemen, the reward of 100,000 UAH will be distributed among all participants in proportion to their contribution.
At the same time, the payment of 15,000 UAH for eliminating the enemy in a shooting or hand-to-hand combat will only be made with the presence of confirmation in the form of video documentation.
When will rewards be paid to servicemen
Additional funds will be credited based on an order from the military unit commander along with the main monetary provision.
The order for payment must be issued by the 5th of the current month for the previous month, and the servicemen must receive the funds by the 20th of the same month.
New contracts for servicemen: what service terms are provided
The first stage of the transformation of the Defense Forces also introduces contracts with a defined term of service.
Three main options are provided:
-
infantry-assault contract: 14 months for civilians, 10 months for active servicemen, and from 6 months for those returning to service;
-
combat contract - 24 months;
-
basic contract - 24 months.
The Ministry of Defense states that detailed conditions for concluding new contracts and answers to frequently asked questions are published on the official resource of the Ground Forces.
It should be noted that Deputy Minister of Defense Oksana Ferchuk announced an increase in payments for servicemen, which will not depend on the signing of a contract.
