A Joyous Occasion for the Zvonetsky Family
Ukrainian serviceman Ilya Zvonetsky and his wife, Iryna, are now the proud parents of triplet girls. The births took place at the Chernivtsi Regional Perinatal Center. The couple welcomed three daughters: Olivia, Ilaria, and Amelia. The family already includes two older children, Eva and Martin.
During an ultrasound, doctors initially informed the couple they were expecting twins, but a later scan revealed they would be having triplets. All three girls were born full-term via cesarean section, with the pregnancy and delivery proceeding without complications. The names for the daughters were chosen during the pregnancy, taking into account the names of their older siblings. Iryna Zvonetska noted that the selection of names was connected to the feelings, temperament, and energy she sensed from each baby.
“We calmly looked at the first baby, the second baby, and then—a third baby. My eyes went wide at the third one. I said: Where from? We only have two. And the doctor says: Congratulations, it's triplets!” Iryna shared, recalling the surprising moment.
She also expressed her apprehension, saying, “I'm afraid to look at their father.”
The Rarity of Triplet Births
Interestingly, at the Chernivtsi Regional Perinatal Center, a triplet birth typically occurs only about once a year. For comparison, two sets of triplets were recently born in a Dnipro maternity hospital: one set of girls and one set of boys. The girls born in Dnipro were named:
- Vira (Faith)
- Nadiya (Hope)
- Lyubov (Love)
The smallest of those triplets weighed just over 700 grams at birth.
Thus, Ilya and Iryna Zvonetsky are now parents to five children: Eva, Martin, Olivia, Ilaria, and Amelia, adding vibrant new moments to their family life. The arrival of triplets is a rare and significant event, highlighting both a medical success and the profound emotional journey for the parents. Such stories often resonate widely, drawing attention to the unique challenges and joys of raising multiples.
