First Delivery of Training Weapons
The Vinnytsia Regional Center for National Resistance has become the first in Ukraine to receive a free shipment of training weapons—specifically, decommissioned full-scale mock-ups—from the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This delivery, made in response to an official request from the Vinnytsia Regional Council, marks a key step in establishing a nationwide network of publicly-run training centers for national resistance. This initiative is part of Ukraine's broader effort to enhance civilian preparedness and territorial defense capabilities.
The entire shipment consists of deactivated units classified as Mass-Dimensional Mock-ups (MDM). Crucially, MDMs are not firearms and cannot be used to fire live ammunition. Each unit has been inspected and certified as safe for training use by the Scientific Research Expert Forensic Center of Ukraine's Ministry of Internal Affairs.
Building a National Training Network
The network of National Resistance Training Centers is being established on the initiative of regional councils and the Kyiv City Council. Training for citizens at these centers will follow standard programs developed by the Command of the Territorial Defense Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, with methodological support from the Ministry of Defense. Importantly, these centers do not require special permits from law enforcement authorities to operate.
Citizens who complete the training will be able to practice essential skills, including:
- Weapon assembly and disassembly
- Proper handling and posture
- Tactical movement and weapon manipulation
This training aims to raise the population's general level of preparedness for potential security challenges and provide a better understanding of defense fundamentals. The implementation of such initiatives represents a significant phase in strengthening Ukraine's national security framework.
The delivery to the Vinnytsia Center signifies the launch of a systematic approach to preparing the population for national resistance, which is expected to positively impact the overall security level in the country. The creation of this network will be a vital step in bolstering Ukraine's defensive resilience by equipping citizens with foundational defense knowledge and increasing their readiness for various threats.
