The new school year in Ukraine has started with good news for teachers - their salaries will increase. Now they will receive a monthly supplement of 2600 hryvnias before taxation, which amounts to 2000 hryvnias net in hand. This is twice as much as before.
This salary increase will be received by teachers due to the state education support program during wartime. This helps to compensate for working in difficult conditions and is provided separately from the main salary. It is important to note that the amount of these payments may vary depending on the teaching load of educators and the program will be in effect until the end of the year.
Conditions for receiving: 'The amount of the supplement may vary depending on the teaching load of the educator. For employees with a full workload, the basic amount is set at 2000 hryvnias, but for exceeding the standard load, the amount is proportionally increased.'
Salary Increase for Educators
According to experts, significant changes in the basic salary of educators are not expected until the end of 2025. However, the government plans a gradual increase in salaries over the next three years with a target of 20000 hryvnias per month by 2028.
This is an important step in ensuring decent working conditions for teachers in modern conditions. Unlike neighboring Poland, where the requirements for receiving aid of 800+ have been tightened, in Ukraine, educators will have the opportunity to receive significantly more additional support.
At the beginning of the new school year in Ukraine, teachers are promised a substantial increase in additional payments aimed at improving their working conditions and making them more dignified in wartime. At the same time, there are plans to increase teachers' basic salaries by 2028 in order to enhance the prestige of the teacher and ensure better working conditions.
