Supreme Anti-Corruption Court Issues Verdict
The Supreme Anti-Corruption Court ruled against the former deputy head of the Food Safety and Consumer Protection Service in the Dnipropetrovsk region, I. Rusak-Kotelevets, and her husband by confiscating a disputed asset for the state. The case centers on a 2020 Toyota Land Cruiser 200, which was bought at a suspiciously low price and later sold for a substantial profit. The family’s official income did not support such a purchase.
Case Details
According to court documents, the official’s family acquired the vehicle in July 2024 for just 10,000 hryvnias. A few months later, the car was sold for 900,000 hryvnias, despite the minimum market value of such a model exceeding 2.48 million hryvnias. By the time the lawsuit was filed, the asset had already changed hands. The claim was supported by evidence gathered by the State Bureau of Investigation and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office.
This ruling highlights Ukraine’s ongoing commitment to combating corruption within its public service. It sends a clear warning to officials about the serious repercussions of illicit conduct.
