The High Anti-Corruption Court seized UAH 5 million from a deputy: what was found in his family

Антикорупційний суд конфіскував 5 мільйонів гривень у депутата: що виявили в його родині.

Recognition of the Deputy's Assets as Unfounded

The High Anti-Corruption Court recognized the assets of the deputy of the village council of Brovary district as unfounded, totaling UAH 5 million. Among the seized assets are vehicles and land plots belonging to the deputy and his family.

In particular, the deputy owns:

  • a 2023 Volkswagen ID 4 registered to his ex-wife,
  • a 2015 Jaguar XF registered to the deputy's adult son,
  • ten land plots registered to the deputy's mother-in-law, ex-wife, and son.

All these assets were deemed unfounded by the court, which was the basis for their seizure.

Further Actions and the Importance of Transparency

The case materials were sent to the National Agency for the Prevention of Corruption for further investigation. Meanwhile, it was reported in Rivne region that a former deputy was suspected of declaring false information exceeding UAH 30 million. It is known that the former deputy did not include six real estate objects with a total area of 1,700 sq. m in his declarations, as well as about 40 land plots with a total area of over 60 hectares.

It should be noted that German Halushchenko submitted a declaration for 2025, which sparked additional interest in his activities and financial assets. All these events underline the importance of combating corruption and the need for transparency in the financial matters of public officials.

These events are part of a broader trend in Ukraine, where the fight against corruption is becoming a priority for public authorities. The recognition of deputies' assets as unfounded and the referral of case materials to the National Agency for the Prevention of Corruption indicate an intensification of anti-corruption measures. At the same time, cases of declaring false information highlight the necessity of increasing accountability and transparency among public officials, which can positively affect public trust in the authorities.
