The coordinator of the energy committee of the European Business Association, Ksenia Voronina, noted that Ukraine has great potential for the development of wind energy, but this is hindered by the lack of tax incentives.
Low electricity prices are a key factor for restoring the Ukrainian economy and reducing the operating costs of enterprises. To achieve this goal, it is necessary to develop renewable energy sources, she emphasized.
According to Voronina, wind generation is one of the most promising technologies due to its environmental cleanliness, quick construction, and low electricity costs.
Therefore, most wind turbines have to be purchased abroad, the expert noted.
Ukrainian manufacturers of wind turbines meet only up to 10% of market needs, and their equipment is mainly used for their own projects.
The extended period of tax exemption will help ensure a stable flow of resources and will contribute to a faster recovery of energy infrastructure and the construction of new generation facilities, Voronina concluded.
Ukrainian experts noted the importance of tax incentives for the development of wind energy in the country and emphasized the need for active promotion of this sector for further reduction of dependence on imported energy equipment.
