Cash Export from Ukraine: New Rules and Amounts Not Requiring Declaration

Експорт готівки з України: зміни в правилах та нові ліміти без обов'язкової декларації

New Rules for Cash Export in Ukraine

New rules regarding cash export have been introduced in Ukraine. Now, Ukrainians can export up to 10,000 euros in cash without the need for declaration. If the amount exceeds this limit, it will be necessary to declare the funds and provide documents confirming their origin.

Conditions for Declaration and Currency Movement

This regulation applies to any currency, including dollars, euros, and hryvnias. The declaration requirement applies not only to cash but also to bank metals and securities. Valuables exceeding the limit of 10,000 euros will be converted to euros at the official exchange rate of the National Bank of Ukraine at the time of crossing the border.

For moving amounts exceeding the specified limit, citizens should choose the 'red corridor' at customs. At the same time, it is worth noting that there are no maximum restrictions on currency export physically. Thus, Ukrainians have the opportunity to export a certain sum of money without additional formalities.

The introduction of new cash export rules reflects the efforts of the Ukrainian authorities to simplify procedures for citizens and ensure ease in financial transactions abroad. This can positively impact the travel of Ukrainians and their opportunities for doing business outside the country, especially in conditions of global economic instability. At the same time, the new regulations will contribute to increased transparency of financial transactions and control over capital movement.
