When planning a trip to Poland, Ukrainians need to have sufficient funds for living and returning home. Otherwise, entry may be denied, reports the Migrant Info portal.

Depending on the length of stay, Ukrainians must have the following funds:

  • 300 zlotys for stays up to four days;

  • 75 zlotys for each day of stay if it lasts more than four days.

The cost of a return ticket is separately considered in case of its absence when leaving. For example:

  • 200 zlotys for persons from neighboring countries of the Republic of Poland;

  • 500 zlotys for individuals from other EU member states;

  • 2500 zlotys for individuals from non-EU countries.

Financial guarantees for study purposes

A person entering Poland for the purpose of studying, participating in research projects, or training must have at least 1270 zlotys for the first two months of stay.

Exceptions from financial verification

Foreigners may be exempt from proving sufficient funds in the case of:

  • being granted a work visa;

  • having a visa for exercising rights related to the Pole's Card;

  • having a residence card.

Possible denial of entry

A Ukrainian may be denied entry to Poland if he does not have sufficient funds for staying and returning.

Earlier admission to universities in Poland for foreigners has become more difficult due to the requirement of certificates confirming knowledge of Polish or another language at the required level. The initiative group has submitted a petition to postpone the implementation of this regulation, as it is difficult for foreigners to obtain the certificates in time.

Ukrainians planning to visit Poland should remember the need to have enough funds for living and returning home. Otherwise, there may be a denial of entry into the country, which could complicate travel plans. Therefore, it is better to prepare for the trip in advance and determine the necessary amount for hassle-free border crossing into Poland.
