High Qualification and Disciplinary Commission of Advocacy
The High Qualification and Disciplinary Commission of Advocacy (HKDCA) has fulfilled the requirements of the government 'Roadmap' aimed at improving the disciplinary practices of lawyers. The head of HKDCA, Andriy Misyats, reported that the system of disciplinary procedures is currently functioning stably and evolving according to European standards. This achievement has become possible due to the active implementation of new mechanisms within the framework of legal self-governance.
Meeting of the Working Group
On January 2, the first meeting of the Working Group for the implementation of the Roadmap on the rule of law took place. One of the goals of this initiative is to improve disciplinary procedures in the legal profession, which is an important step in ensuring legal clarity and transparency in the activities of lawyers. Andriy Misyats noted that part of the tasks of the Roadmap, particularly in the aspect of unifying disciplinary practices and protecting the rights of participants in proceedings, has already been accomplished through the decisions of legal self-governance.
'We do not wait for instructions from 'above,' but refine procedures in an operational manner,' emphasized the head of HKDCA, Andriy Misyats.
This indicates the commission's commitment to autonomous development and adaptation to modern requirements. HKDCA will continue to work on improving disciplinary practices, which should positively impact the quality of legal services in Ukraine.
Improving disciplinary procedures in the legal profession is an important step towards ensuring legal clarity and enhancing trust in the legal profession in Ukraine. The implementation of the 'Roadmap' demonstrates the readiness of the legal profession to adapt to modern standards and requirements, which can positively influence the development of the legal system in the country. Further steps by HKDCA in this area may lay the foundation for a more transparent and efficient operation of lawyers, which is vital for protecting the rights and interests of citizens.
