Ukrainian fencer Vlada Kharkova achieved victory in a tense bout against contender for the world number one ranking and 2022 world champion Se Ryu Song, with a score of 15-14, thus advancing to the final of the World Fencing Championship.
In the decisive match, Vlada will face Estonian Katrin Lehis, who is an Olympic champion and bronze medalist of the 2020 Olympic Games. The title match will begin today, July 23, at 19:05 Kyiv time.
Also highlighted at the international competitions is the successful performance of swimmer Makar Yakhno, who won a gold medal at the European Youth Olympic Festival, as well as the victories of Ukrainian taekwondo athletes at the World Summer Universiade. The Ukrainian team already has three medals after the first two days of competitions in Skopje.
