Vladislav Geraskevich will serve as the flag bearer for the Ukrainian team at the 2026 Winter Olympics, which will take place in Milan and Cortina d'Ampezzo from February 6 to 22. This is an important event for Ukrainian sports, as Geraskevich, who is a Ukrainian skeleton athlete, will have the honor of representing his country on the international stage.

The opening ceremony and previous participations

The opening ceremony of the Olympics will be held in two cities: Milan and Cortina d'Ampezzo. It is worth recalling that at the previous Summer Olympics, which took place in Paris, the flag of Ukraine was carried by:

  • Mikhailo Romanchuk

In turn, at the Winter Olympics in Beijing, the flag was represented by:

  • Oleksandra Nazarova
  • Oleksandr Abramenko

Vladislav Geraskevich shared his emotions regarding being chosen as the flag bearer.

“The emotions, of course, are extremely positive, but at the same time, I understand well what a huge responsibility this is,” he noted.
The athlete stated that he received official notification from the National Olympic Committee of Ukraine.
“Yesterday we received a call and were officially informed of this news,” added Geraskevich.

It should be noted that participating in the Olympic Games is a significant achievement for athletes, and the role of the flag bearer is a prestigious responsibility, underscoring the importance of athletic accomplishments and national pride.
