Own Business: In Which Areas Ukrainians Most Often Open Businesses

The results of the 'Own Business' program for 2025 have been announced by the State Employment Service. During the eleventh wave of the program, 482 entrepreneurs will be able to receive microgrants totaling nearly 133 million hryvnias. This money will be used to create or develop businesses, which will lead to the creation of 790 new jobs.


Among the top 5 areas of activity for the program winners are wholesale and retail trade, repair of vehicles (34%), temporary accommodation and food organization (13%), manufacturing (12%), provision of other services (11%), and healthcare and social assistance (7%).


Most of the grant recipients are women. The regions with the highest number of winners are Kyiv Oblast (14%), Kharkiv Oblast (12%), Lviv Oblast (11%), Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast (6%), and Dnipropetrovsk Oblast (5%).


It is also noteworthy that the majority of program participants have higher education (68%). Another 16% have obtained secondary vocational education in colleges or technical schools.



In the youth direction of the program, 19 young Ukrainians aged 18 to 25 will receive grants of up to 150,000 hryvnias. This funding will help them implement their own business ideas and launch their own enterprises. Since September 2024, financial support has already been given to 379 young Ukrainians who are actively developing their businesses, contributing to the country's economy.

The 'Own Business' program for 2025 has allocated a significant amount of microgrants to entrepreneurs, which will create new jobs and support young entrepreneurs in realizing their ideas. The initiative actively contributes to the development of entrepreneurship and supports participants from various regions of Ukraine and different fields of activity.
