Ukrainians were able to import only 131 'luxury' cars from abroad in the first 5 months of 2025, which is 3.4 times less than in the same period last year when 448 cars were imported. However, compared to 2021, the number of expensive cars has increased by 42%.
The number of cars subject to additional taxation has significantly increased in 2023. During this period, 584 cars falling under the luxury tax were imported. The majority of cars arrived in Kyiv - 43% of the total, with 13% in Kyiv, Odesa, and Lviv regions.
According to statistics, 63% of all cars subject to luxury tax this year are Porsches, with the Porsche Taycan and Porsche Cayenne E-hybrid in the lead at 41% and 8% respectively. Mercedes-Benz takes second place with 21% of the total. Among the favorite models of Ukrainians are the Mercedes-Benz s 450 and Mercedes-Benz s 580 4matic, which together make up 15%.
According to data, the number of 'luxury' cars imported to Ukraine has significantly decreased in the last five months. However, the popularity of brands like Porsche and Mercedes-Benz remains high among Ukrainians, indicating some stable interest in premium-class cars in the market.
