Drivers in Ukraine are facing hefty fines for violating the rules of using license plates, which are an important component for identifying vehicles and their owners. This was reported by the publication 'SUV News'.
Thus, driving a vehicle that has not passed state registration, or a vehicle without license plates, is punishable by a fine of 850 hryvnias, according to part 6 of article 121 of the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offenses.
Even stricter fines are set for drivers whose license plates are difficult to read. If the plates are dirty, not illuminated at night, covered by something, or cannot be recognized from a distance, the fine will amount to 1190 hryvnias.
A particularly serious violation is the use of license plates that are intended for emergency services and other state agencies. For such an action, the driver will be fined 2550 hryvnias. In the case of a repeated violation within a year, the fine will increase to 5100 hryvnias, and the driver may be suspended from driving for a period of three to six months.
In Ukraine, there are strict sanctions for violating the corresponding rules of using license plates, which becomes an important element of the country's transport system.
