Drivers in Ukraine have begun to notice an unusual road sign that causes confusion among motorists. It is a white triangle with a red border and a black dot inside — a symbol that is not present in the old training materials for taking exams.

According to the publication 'Your CAR', this sign has an official designation of 1.41 and warns drivers about hazardous road sections.

The sign first appeared on Ukrainian roads in the fall of 2021. It is placed in locations with high accident rates: at sharp turns, intersections with limited visibility, or dangerous sections with slippery surfaces.

The sign is installed ahead of the problematic area: in cities at a distance of 50-100 meters, outside populated areas — at 150-300 meters. This distance allows drivers to react in time and reduce their speed.

Experts advise drivers, upon seeing the sign 1.41, to follow a few simple rules: refrain from overtaking, maintain a safe distance, and pay increased attention on the road. Ignoring these recommendations has already led to serious traffic accidents.

The goal of introducing the 'black dot' is to reduce the number of road traffic accidents in the most dangerous road sections. International experience confirms the effectiveness of such a warning system for drivers.

The appearance of the new road sign with designation 1.41 on the roads of Ukraine causes some confusion among drivers, as this sign was not presented in previous training materials. Drivers are advised to follow the rules associated with this sign, aimed at preventing traffic accidents in hazardous areas.
