Incident in the Pechersk District
A driver plowed into a traffic light at high speed while behind the wheel of an Audi in Kyiv’s Pechersk District. The crash occurred on Lesya Ukrainka Boulevard. The motorist was under the influence of alcohol and did not possess a valid driver’s license. After the collision, he refused to undergo a breathalyzer test using a Drager device. Fortunately, no one was injured in the accident.
Patrol police quickly arrived at the scene and established the full circumstances of the crash. Authorities filed three administrative reports against the driver. The fines include:
- A penalty for violating traffic regulations that caused the accident – 340 Ukrainian hryvnias;
- A fine for driving while intoxicated – 17,000 Ukrainian hryvnias;
- A fine for operating a vehicle without a driver’s license – 510 Ukrainian hryvnias.
The total amount of fines imposed comes to 17,850 Ukrainian hryvnias.

This incident follows a tragic event on May 3 in the village of Hatne, Fastiv District, where a child died in a road accident. The press service of the capital’s patrol police stated:
