President Volodymyr Zelensky has proposed Mykhailo Fedorov to become the new Minister of Defense of Ukraine, summarizing the work of the Ministry of Defense and announcing personnel changes. According to Zelensky, Fedorov will be able to implement these initiatives and add technology to the defense sector.

Structural changes in the government

Additionally, it became known that Denys Shmyhal will remain in the team and head another direction. Kyrylo Budanov has been appointed head of the President's Office. Oleg Ivashchenko will lead the Main Intelligence Directorate. The President also mentioned that a decision regarding the Foreign Intelligence Service will be made in the near future.

As part of the announced changes, the continuation of meetings of advisors on security issues in the format of 'Europe plus the USA' is planned. Volodymyr Zelensky emphasized that Kyrylo Budanov has enough experience and strength to direct the office's work towards security issues and the negotiation process.

These personnel changes in the government of Ukraine emphasize the strategic focus on modernizing defense processes, particularly through the integration of advanced technologies. The appointment of Mykhailo Fedorov, who already has experience in digitization, may indicate the authorities' intention to enhance the effectiveness of military operations through the use of drones and other innovations. In addition, changes in the leadership of the President's Office and intelligence may affect the approaches to security and foreign policy of Ukraine in the face of modern challenges.
