Change of Football Citizenship for Oleksiy Palamarchuk

Leading goalkeeper of the Ukrainian Premier League, Oleksiy Palamarchuk, confirmed his intention to change his football citizenship to Moldovan. The 34-year-old goalkeeper of the Cherkasy club LNZ holds a Moldovan birth certificate as he was born in Bender, Moldova. This move could open new opportunities for Palamarchuk on the international stage.

Statistics and Achievements

Palamarchuk currently tops the ranking of the most reliable goalkeepers in the UPL, demonstrating impressive statistics in the current 2025 season. In 14 matches, he has conceded only 2 goals, which is an excellent indicator for a goalkeeper. His team, LNZ, has also been successful, leading the UPL table, surpassing competitors such as Shakhtar and Dynamo. In the 8th round of the UPL season 2025/26, LNZ dealt a crushing defeat to Shakhtar, confirming their strength on the field.

Oleksiy Palamarchuk expressed his willingness to play for the Moldovan national team, stating:

“Yes, if I am offered, I definitely won’t refuse to play for the Moldovan national team. But so far, no one has contacted me.”
Thus, changing football citizenship could be a new stage in the career of the experienced goalkeeper.

The change of citizenship for Oleksiy Palamarchuk may significantly impact his career and future performances on the international stage. If he is offered a place in the Moldovan national team, it will provide not only a chance for personal development, but also help elevate the level of the team. At the same time, his successes in the UPL may attract other clubs looking for an experienced goalkeeper with high results. Thus, Palamarchuk may become a key player not only for his club but also on the international stage.
