An 8-Year-Old from Vinnytsia Sets a Ukrainian Record for Eurovision Knowledge

Вісім-річний талановитий хлопчик з Вінниці вразив усіх своєю неймовірною обізнаністю про Євробачення.

Ukrainian Record Achieved by 8-Year-Old Bohdan Maliarskyi

Bohdan Maliarskyi, an 8-year-old resident of Vinnytsia, has set a national record by reciting 232 Eurovision facts from memory. The achievement was officially certified by Lana Vyetrova, head of the National Register of Records of Ukraine. A student at Vinnytsia Lyceum No. 20, Bohdan displayed an extraordinary memory by recalling facts spanning the contest’s 70-year history, which began in 1956.

Bohdan first became fascinated with Eurovision at the age of 4. This passion drove him to study the contest’s history in detail, and he even maintains his own handwritten card index to organize his knowledge. Lana Vyetrova remarked:

'It was incredible to watch Bohdan enthusiastically handle dates that are older than his parents and that took place decades before he was born.'

His knowledge runs so deep that he even predicted the participation of singer Leleka in this year’s Eurovision, where she is representing Ukraine.

Family Pride and the Achievements of Young Ukrainians

Iryna Maliarska, Bohdan’s mother, expressed pride in her son’s accomplishment:

'We are immensely happy that our son’s energy has found its natural outlet! His interest in the contest has been long-standing and systematic, and he has continually deepened his knowledge of Eurovision for his own enjoyment!'

This record serves as a vivid example of how a passion can transform into outstanding achievements.

Bohdan’s success also resonates alongside other records in Ukraine. For instance, Kyiv schoolboy Borys Vaskovets set a record by reciting 300 digits of Pi from memory. Both cases highlight how young Ukrainians are demonstrating impressive memory and learning abilities, which undoubtedly deserve recognition.

The accomplishments of young Ukrainians like Bohdan Maliarskyi underscore the importance of supporting and nurturing children’s talents. These achievements not only inspire their peers but also reflect the potential of the new generation to reach significant heights in various fields. In the face of modern challenges, such examples serve as a positive model for society, showing that dedication and passion can lead to remarkable results.
