Living Assistance for Internally Displaced Persons
The Social Insurance Fund of Ukraine has clarified the procedure for granting living assistance to internally displaced persons (IDPs). This support is governed by Resolution No. 332 of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, issued on March 20, 2022. For families applying for the first time, the assistance is granted for a six-month period and paid on a monthly basis.
For instance, one individual who relocated from Izium (Kharkiv region) to the Ternopil region registered as an IDP and found employment. This example highlights how internally displaced persons are adapting to new living conditions, in part thanks to financial support from the state.
How to Apply for Assistance
IDPs can submit their applications through several channels:
- In person at any selected service center of the Pension Fund of Ukraine;
- Through an authorized representative of the executive body of a village, settlement, or city council within the relevant territorial community;
- Via Administrative Services Centers (ASCs);
- By postal mail addressed to the territorial office of the Pension Fund of Ukraine;
- Online through the Pension Fund of Ukraine's web portal for electronic services, using a qualified electronic signature (QES).

Addressing questions about assistance for internally displaced persons is a crucial step in supporting those forced to leave their homes due to the conflict. This support not only provides financial aid but also helps integrate IDPs into new communities, which can positively influence the socio-economic development of host regions. The availability of multiple application channels further simplifies access to this assistance, enhancing citizens' mobility and their ability to adapt to new living circumstances.
In addition to financial support, the government is also focusing on housing solutions for displaced individuals. Recent developments have led to a new framework aimed at providing rural housing for those affected by the conflict. This initiative complements the existing assistance programs, ensuring that displaced Ukrainians can find stability in their new environments.
