The Verkhovna Rada has adopted a law on academic integrity: what will change for students and teachers

Новий закон про академічну доброчесність: вплив на навчальний процес та ролі викладачів і студентів.

The Ukrainian Verkhovna Rada has supported the draft law No. 10392 'On Academic Integrity'. This document aims to improve the quality of education and scientific activity, as well as increase trust in the results of learning and research.

The law establishes seven key values of academic integrity, including honesty, trust, respect, fairness, responsibility, resilience, and determination. Each educational institution and scientific organization is required to have its own system of ensuring academic integrity with clearly defined policies and procedures to prevent and respond to violations.

Academic integrity is important in the fight against corruption in education and science, as it is here that the values of responsibility and honesty are formed.

The National Agency for the Prevention of Corruption supported this draft law, actively participating in its development and expert discussions.

The law on academic integrity is designed to ensure honesty in learning and research activities, as well as to promote responsible attitudes towards one's own results among all participants in the educational process.
