The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has updated the data on the losses of Russian occupiers as of January 5, 2026. As of this date, the total losses of the personnel of the Russian Federation amount to approximately 1,212,520 people, including an increase of 990 people over the past day.

Losses of military equipment

Losses of military equipment are also significant. According to the data, the following have been destroyed:

  • 11,507 tanks (+8)
  • 23,857 armored fighting vehicles (+2)
  • 35,785 artillery systems (+29)
  • 1,592 units of multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS) (+2)
  • 1,268 units of anti-aircraft defense systems (no change)
  • 434 aircraft
  • 347 helicopters
  • 100,564 operational-tactical level unmanned aerial vehicles (+704)
  • 4,137 cruise missiles
  • 28 ships and boats
  • 2 submarines
  • 72,945 units of automotive equipment and fuel tankers (+169)
  • 4,036 units of special equipment (+1)

Currently, the 1412th day of the full-scale war in Ukraine is ongoing.

The updated data on the losses of Russian troops reflects the duration and intensity of the conflict, which has been ongoing for over four years. These figures underscore the significant losses that the Russian Federation has incurred, which may impact their military strategy and further actions in the region. At the same time, the continuation of hostilities in Ukraine indicates that the conflict leaves a significant mark on the economic and social development of the country.
