October 2023 Sees Sharp Increase in Russian Infantry Losses

Robert 'Madyar' Brovdi, commander of the Drone Forces, disclosed a substantial rise in Russian infantry casualties caused by drone strikes during October 2023 compared to previous months. In just the first five days of October, losses among Russian troops climbed by 39.7% relative to the same period in September and surged 76.5% compared to early August. The Drone Forces pilots recorded a total of 2,699 irrecoverable and medical casualties in the 'Delta' system from October 1 to 5, whereas September and August saw 1,931 and 1,529 losses respectively during the same timeframe.

Frontline Loss Trends Highlight Significant Increases

The most pronounced rise in casualties occurred along the Dobropillia-Pokrovske axis within the sector controlled by the 1st Corps of the National Guard’s 'Azov' unit. Drone operators targeted enemy forces in this area:

  • 1268 times in October
  • 884 times in September
  • 664 times in early August

This marks a 43% increase compared to September and a 91% jump from August in the 1st Corps' operational zone. It is important to note that these figures represent losses attributed solely to units within the Drone Forces Group and exclude other operational command units.

As Robert 'Madyar' Brovdi emphasized, "These numbers pertain exclusively to the Drone Forces Group and do not account for other operational command units, so the full picture is even broader."

He also stressed that "there is no room for speculation or rumors—this is strictly data-driven, based on verified losses and thorough analysis." Affirming his resolve, Brovdi declared, "Moscow will fall, but we will stand strong."

Previously, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky warned about Russian President Vladimir Putin’s intentions to implement a covert mobilization. Likewise, Estonian intelligence has suggested a new wave of conscription in Russia may be underway. The information on Russian infantry casualties was shared by Brovdi on Telegram and is also accessible via the Drone Forces’ online dashboard 'Pidrakhuyka' and the 'Delta' tracking system.

The escalating toll on Russian infantry underscores the growing impact of drone warfare on modern battlefields. The increasing precision and efficiency of drone strikes are likely to pressure Russian military leadership to reconsider their tactics, potentially altering the trajectory of the conflict. With the possibility of intensified mobilization in Russia, frontline conditions may become even more volatile, demanding continuous adaptation from Ukrainian forces.
