WOG Gas Station Network Imposes New Operational Rules
Starting July 1, the WOG gas station network has introduced revised operational protocols across seven regions of Ukraine. These changes are a direct response to the deteriorating security situation in areas frequently targeted by Russian forces. The restrictions apply to stations in Sumy, Chernihiv, Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhia, Dnipropetrovsk, and Kherson Oblasts, as well as select stations in Poltava Oblast.
A key measure includes suspending station operations from 9:00 PM to 7:00 AM. During these hours, all external lighting will be turned off to enhance site security. Additionally, fuel dispensing will halt during air raid alerts, including remote refueling via the WOG PAY service. These steps aim to reduce the risk of attacks on fuel infrastructure.
Regional Security Challenges
Andriy Podorvan, head of the Chernihiv Regional Military Administration, stated that
“Russian strikes on gas stations in Chernihiv region have become almost a daily occurrence.”This highlights the severity of the threat, with four stations hit in the past 24 hours alone. Attacks also targeted five gas stations in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, underscoring escalating dangers in regions like Dnipropetrovsk, Kharkiv, and Sumy.
By implementing these measures, WOG aims to protect both customers and employees amid the ongoing conflict. The company is adapting its operations to mitigate risks from frequent shelling and air raid warnings.
The new restrictions reflect the growing hazards in frontline areas. As attacks persist, other businesses operating in high-risk zones may adopt similar protocols to safeguard lives and property. Such adjustments could become standard practice in Ukraine’s volatile regions.
