Insurance Payout Indexation for 2026
Monthly insurance benefits for victims of workplace accidents and occupational diseases will be indexed by a factor of 1.121 starting March 1, 2026. The maximum increase resulting from this indexation will not exceed 2,595 hryvnias. The indexed payments for March will be disbursed in April.
This annual recalculation of monthly insurance payouts for workplace injury and occupational disease victims occurs every year on March 1. The adjustment is based on a coefficient that accounts for the growth of consumer prices and the average wage (income) in Ukraine. For 2026, this coefficient for increasing monthly insurance payments is set at 1.121.
Approval of the Indexation Coefficient
The indexation coefficient was approved by Decree No. 236 of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, dated February 25, 2026. The decree's full title is 'On the Indexation of Pension and Insurance Payments and Additional Measures to Improve the Level of Social Protection for the Most Vulnerable Segments of the Population in 2026'. Insurance benefits are provided monthly, starting from the month following the one in which they were assigned and calculated. The payment of the indexed monthly insurance benefit for March will be ensured in April.
This indexation reflects the government's commitment to providing social protection for individuals harmed by workplace accidents and occupational illnesses. Factoring in consumer price and average wage growth is a crucial part of this process, helping to maintain the real income level of victims. These adjustments are a standard practice in Ukraine's social security system, aiming to shield beneficiaries from the effects of inflation. The payments being implemented in 2026 continue the tradition of annual recalculation, which seeks to improve the social standing of vulnerable population groups.
