In Lviv, starting June 1, 2026, new tariffs for public transport may be introduced, according to new fare rates. Cash payment will increase the most — up to 30 UAH per trip, while the fine for traveling without a ticket may rise to 520 UAH. This is reported by the Telegram channel “I love Lviv so much” reported.

How much will travel in Lviv cost from June 2026

The most advantageous option for passengers will remain payment through the LeoCart transport card or the mobile application. However, this fare is also proposed to be significantly increased — from 17 to 23 UAH.

The new prices might look like this:

  1. LeoCart or app — 23 UAH.

  2. Student LeoCart — 11.5 UAH.

  3. Bank card — 26 UAH.

  4. Cash ticket — 30 UAH.

Prices for travel subscriptions may also rise. The student subscription for all types of transport is proposed to be raised to 575 UAH, while the general one — to 1150 UAH.

Additionally, in Lviv, they plan to increase the fine for traveling without a ticket or without a valid ticket — from 400 to 520 UAH.

Reasons for the tariff increase explained in Lviv

In the tariff structure, about 40% of costs are attributed to fuel and electricity. Another 60% consists of salaries for transport workers, maintenance, repair, and the purchase of spare parts.

Particularly significant expenses remain for electric transport, where substantial funds are spent on maintaining infrastructure and repairing rolling stock.

The increase in tariffs in Lviv is being discussed against the backdrop of a sharp rise in diesel fuel prices, which have significantly increased in price over the past year.

New tariffs may be implemented as early as the beginning of summer

Before making a final decision in Lviv, consultations with the public must be conducted. Following this, the new tariffs should be approved by the executive committee of the city council.

If the decision is supported, the new travel costs will take effect starting June 1, 2026.

Lviv remains one of the cities in Ukraine that actively develops the electronic ticket system and encourages passengers to use cashless payment through transport cards.

It should be noted that starting April 27 in Lviv, the action of the preferential LeoCart is being expanded: residents of other communities who have the right to free travel will also be able to use it.
