Changes in electricity tariffs for businesses

From September 1, Ukrainian distribution system operators may change electricity tariffs for businesses. According to a member of the parliamentary Committee on Energy and Housing and Public Utilities, Serhiy Nahornyak, this adjustment could lead to an increase in electricity costs by 14-23%, depending on the voltage class.

The main reasons for these changes are the debts of regional energy companies to 'Ukrenergo' and financial problems in interacting with green energy producers. Unlike businesses, electricity tariffs for the population will remain at the previous level, as Nahornyak explained.

In the utility bill for electricity for the population, nothing will change. The tariff remains unchanged. 4 hryvnias 32 kopecks for those using a single-zone meter, and 2 hryvnias 16 kopecks at night for owners of dual-zone meters

Nahornyak urged companies to be transparent and comply with laws. He also emphasized the importance of control over the energy sector by anti-corruption agencies. It is also worth noting that regional energy companies in frontline regions will only have their tariffs reviewed from October 1.

Reminder, Naftogaz strengthens requirements for consumers: gas disconnection is possible even with a debt of 50 hryvnias.

The previous level of electricity tariffs for the population remains unchanged, while increases in costs of 14-23% are expected for businesses. The main reason for the changes is the debts and financial difficulties of regional energy companies and issues with green energy producers. In regulating these issues, it is important to remember about transparency and compliance with legislation in the energy sector.
