From 2026, new payments for children: what will change for Ukrainian families

З початку 2026 року українські родини очікують нововведення у фінансовій підтримці дітей.

Changes in the system of state support for families with children

As of January 1, 2026, Law No. 4681-IX comes into effect in Ukraine, changing the system of state support for families with children by introducing new payments and programs. These changes are aimed at alleviating the financial burden on families and providing better conditions for raising children.

New payment system

According to the new rules, the one-time assistance for childbirth will increase to 50,000 hryvnias. Women without insurance experience will receive 7,000 hryvnias per month during pregnancy. For officially employed women, 100% of the average monthly income will be provided during pregnancy, while for military and police personnel, the payment will amount to 100% of salary.

In addition, a monthly payment of 7,000 hryvnias will be introduced for one of the parents taking care of a child under the age of one. The 'eYasla' program provides for a payment of 8,000 hryvnias per month for the care of a child aged from 1 to 3 years. For children with disabilities, the payment amount will be 12,000 hryvnias. The rules for receiving the 'Baby Package' have also been updated: orders can now be made from the 36th week of pregnancy.

These innovations are aimed at improving conditions for Ukrainian families and supporting parents during an important period of their lives.

The introduction of new payments and programs under Law No. 4681-IX could significantly change the financial situation for many Ukrainian families. The increase in childbirth assistance and new monthly payments highlight the government's efforts to support parents, especially in the face of economic challenges. The changes also reflect Ukraine's desire to improve the demographic situation and provide better conditions for raising children in the country.
