New order of state assistance payments in Ukraine
Starting from January 1, 2026, a new order of state assistance payments for childbirth will be introduced in Ukraine. According to the new changes, the one-time payment for childbirth has increased to 50 thousand hryvnias. This assistance applies only to mothers who give birth after the specified date.
In addition to the one-time payment, women who are officially unemployed will have the opportunity to receive monthly assistance of 7 thousand hryvnias during pregnancy. The state will also pay 7 thousand hryvnias monthly if the mother, father, grandmother, or grandfather cares for the child until one year old. This will help alleviate the financial burden on families and provide additional support to parents during this important time.
Compensations and new initiatives
Bill No. 13532, adopted by the Verkhovna Rada, also provides for compensation for kindergarten up to 8 thousand hryvnias for parents returning to work after the child's first year. These measures are part of a new system of family support aimed at improving conditions for raising children and assisting young parents.
Overall, the innovations provide a comprehensive approach to supporting families with children, including the flexible 'Baby Package' and the 'eNursery' initiative aimed at ensuring comfortable conditions for families in Ukraine.
The introduction of new payments and support programs reflects the efforts of the Ukrainian government to improve the demographic situation in the country and create favorable conditions for raising children. These changes can positively affect the financial situation of young parents and encourage them to start families, which, in turn, may lead to an increase in birth rates in Ukraine.
