From 2026, child payments will change in Ukraine: what to expect for parents

З 2026 року у Україні заплановані нововведення у системі виплат на дітей: батьків чекають суттєві зміни.

Changes in financial support for families with children

Starting January 1, 2026, law No. 13532 comes into effect in Ukraine, changing the system of financial support for families with children. The implementation of this law introduces a number of innovations that will significantly affect payments for parents.

According to the new rules, the one-time payment at the birth of a child will amount to 50 thousand hryvnias. Additionally, the monthly assistance for caring for an infant will be 7 thousand hryvnias until the child reaches one year of age. For women who are not insured in the system of compulsory state insurance, a similar assistance of 7 thousand hryvnias per month will be provided. Furthermore, families caring for a child with a disability under one year old will receive a payment of 10.5 thousand hryvnias.

Programs 'єJasla' and 'єSadok'

The 'єJasla' program is also being introduced, which provides 8 thousand hryvnias for parents, and for children with disabilities, this amount will be 12 thousand hryvnias. The state will pay a unified social contribution for parents who care for a child under three years of age.

An important aspect of the innovations is the 'єSadok' program, which is scheduled to launch in 2028. This program aims to support families with preschool children.

Moreover, the one-time payment 'School Package' for first graders will be 5 thousand hryvnias. The cost of the 'Baby Package' for children born after January 1, 2026, will be 8,451 hryvnias. It should be noted that the 'Baby Package' program was launched on September 1, 2018, and includes 28 items for child care.

Thus, starting from 2026, significant changes will occur in Ukraine in providing financial support to families with children, aimed at improving the living conditions of parents and their children.

These innovations are part of the state's strategy aimed at supporting families and increasing birth rates in Ukraine. In light of the demographic challenges facing the country, changes in the system of financial support could be an important step toward improving conditions for raising children. It is expected that the new programs will have a positive impact on the socio-economic situation in the country, although the implementation of these initiatives will require effective management and funding from the state.
