From 2026, gas tariffs for businesses will increase: the population will pay as before

З початку 2026 року підприємства зіткнуться з суттєвим зростанням тарифів на газ, тоді як для населення умови залишаться незмінними.

Changes in gas tariffs for non-household consumers

Starting January 1, 2026, changes in gas distribution tariffs for non-household consumers are planned in Ukraine. The NCRECP approved the increase of these tariffs on December 19, 2023. According to the new conditions, the weighted average tariff for businesses will be 2.3 UAH per cubic meter per month.

Stages of implementation of changes

The changes in tariffs will be implemented in two stages:

  • The first stage will come into effect on January 1, 2026, when the tariff will be 2.3 UAH per cubic meter.
  • The second stage, starting April 1, 2026, provides for an increase of the tariff to 2.72 UAH per cubic meter per month.

It is worth noting that for the population, the gas price will remain unchanged at 7.96 UAH per cubic meter. This means that household consumers will not feel the impact of the increase in tariffs for businesses. Thus, changes in gas tariffs for non-household consumers will not affect ordinary citizens, who will continue to pay for gas at the previous price.

The change in gas tariffs for non-household consumers, which will come into effect in 2026, may have a significant impact on the business environment in Ukraine. The increase in gas tariffs may reflect on the cost of goods and services, which in turn may lead to price adjustments for end consumers. However, despite this, household consumers will remain protected from these changes, which may contribute to the stability of consumer demand in the market.

It is important to monitor the further steps of the NCRECP in the context of the country's energy policy, as this may impact the economy as a whole.
