STAR-Blue Route Launch
Silverstar Railways, a railway company founded in 2024, has announced the launch of its STAR-Blue route in May 2027. The service will connect Vienna with Austria's Salzkammergut region, featuring seven stops including the standout destination of Bad Aussee. Trains will operate twice weekly on Tuesdays and Thursdays through September 2027.

The STAR-Blue route includes the following stops:

- St. Pölten
- Linz
- Gmunden
- Bad Ischl
- Hallstatt
- Bad Aussee
Notably, Bad Aussee is just one stop away from Hallstatt, another popular tourist destination. Bad Aussee hosts Austria's largest flower festival, the Narzissenfest, held annually. The area's main attraction, the Narzissen Vital Resort, offers hotel and spa services using natural brine from the Altaussee salt mountain. The surroundings of Bad Aussee are also known for their scenic lakes, including Altaussee, Grundlsee, and Toplitzsee.
Silverstar Railways has secured approval to launch a connection to Venice and is currently evaluating six international destinations, including Slovenia and Croatia. This reflects the company's ambition to expand its presence in the international market. Austria's safety level, as rated by the U.S. State Department, is Level 1 (Exercise Normal Precaution), and the country scores 90 out of 100 on Travel Off Path's tourism safety index, underscoring its reputation as a safe travel destination.
