Russian Casualties Mount in Pokrovsk Sector Following Day of Intense Combat

Since the start of the day, Russian invaders have carried out numerous missile and air strikes, with 135 combat engagements recorded. The Pokrovsk sector saw significant enemy losses. Specifically, the aggressors launched two missile strikes and 70 air strikes, using two missiles and dropping 70 guided aerial bombs. A total of 4,786 kamikaze drones were deployed in operations. Overall, Ukrainian military positions and settlements came under 3,088 artillery attacks.

As of 10:00 PM on January 19, 93 occupiers were neutralized in the Pokrovsk sector, 37 of them irrecoverably. The following enemy equipment was destroyed in combat:

  • 13 units of automotive equipment
  • 62 unmanned aerial vehicles
  • One ground drone
  • Three antennas
  • An enemy satellite communications terminal

Hostile activity was also reported on other fronts. For instance, on the North-Slobozhanske front, the enemy conducted one air strike, dropping four guided bombs. On the South-Slobozhanske front, Russian forces attempted 11 assaults on Ukrainian positions, while on the Kupiansk front, the aggressor carried out three offensive actions.

On the Lyman front, Russian invaders attacked Defense Forces positions nine times, and on the Sloviansk front, Ukrainian defenders repelled five enemy assaults. In the Kramatorsk sector, Ukrainian units also repelled two enemy attacks. On the Kostiantynivka front, Russian forces made 15 attempts to advance, while on the Oleksandrivka front, occupiers tried five times to breach Ukrainian defenses. On the Huliaipole front, the enemy attacked defender positions 20 times.

This intense fighting occurs on the 1,426th day of Russia's full-scale war against Ukraine, with the frontline situation remaining highly volatile. The Pokrovsk sector has been a focal point of Russian offensive efforts in recent months, leading to some of the war's most intense ground combat.

Analysts note that the high level of combat activity across the Pokrovsk sector and other fronts indicates a continued strategic campaign by both sides. The substantial losses sustained by the invading forces may signal a degradation of their combat capability, yet the situation remains critical, and further developments could significantly impact the conflict's trajectory.

International support for Ukraine continues to be a crucial factor as the nation defends itself against ongoing aggression, with global attention fixed on the battlefield's evolving dynamics.
