Dubai Airports Shut Down and Lufthansa Halts Flights Amid Regional Airspace Closure

Аеропорти Дубаю припинили роботу, а Lufthansa зупинила рейси через закриття повітряного простору в регіоні.

Dubai Airports Suspend All Operations

Dubai International Airport (DXB) and Al Maktoum International Airport (DWC) have suspended all operations indefinitely due to the closure of airspace over the Gulf region. Consequently, check-in for all flights has been closed, and flight operations at both DXB and Dubai World Central – Al Maktoum International (DWC) are halted until further notice. Dubai Airports has advised passengers not to travel to the airports and to contact their airlines directly for flight information. This disruption is part of a wider regional security crisis affecting major travel hubs.

Regional Tensions Impact Air Travel

In a related development, the German airline Lufthansa has also suspended flights to Israel and key cities across the Middle East. This decision reflects the escalating situation in the region, following Israel's declaration of a state of emergency on its territory. Israel's Defense Minister, Israel Katz, confirmed the implementation of this emergency status and reported the launch of preemptive strikes against Iran.

Furthermore, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) are conducting an aerial operation against Hezbollah infrastructure in southern Lebanon. These events indicate a significant intensification of regional conflict, which has led to major disruptions in air traffic. The airspace closures are a standard precautionary measure during periods of heightened military activity.

The tense situation in the Persian Gulf and the broader Middle East continues, resulting in substantial operational changes for international airports. The resumption of air travel will depend on the stabilization of the security environment in the region. Passengers should therefore prepare for potential delays and itinerary changes, and are urged to monitor official communications from their airlines for updates.
