Total combat losses of the Russian Federation

Total combat losses of the Russian Federation from February 24, 2022, to January 15, 2026, amounted to over 1.2 million people. In particular, total personnel losses are about 1,223,090 people. These data indicate significant losses suffered by the Russian army as a result of hostilities.

Equipment losses

In addition to personnel losses, Russia has suffered significant losses in equipment. Losses:

  • tanks – 11,557 units;
  • armored fighting vehicles – 23,904 units;
  • artillery systems – 36,182 units;
  • multiple launch rocket systems – 1,611 units;
  • air defense systems – 1,277 units;
  • aircraft – 434 units;
  • helicopters – 347 units;
  • tactical drones – 107,357 units;
  • cruise missiles – 4,163 units;
  • ships and boats – 28 units;
  • submarines – 2 units;
  • automotive equipment and fuel tankers – 74,306 units;
  • special equipment – 4,042 units.

These data underscore the scale of the enemy's combat losses over four years of war.

The indicated figures reflect not only human losses but also serious problems with the technical equipment of the Russian armed forces. Significant losses in military equipment may affect Russia's ability to carry out further combat operations, as well as its strategy for conducting military operations. In the conditions of a protracted war, such losses may become crucial for changing the course of the conflict.
