Ukrainian serviceman Mykola Litovchenko was killed on February 5, 2026, while carrying out a combat mission on the Lyman front in the Donetsk region. His death is a profound loss for his family, friends, and fellow soldiers. The Lyman sector has been a focal point of intense fighting in the ongoing war.

Born on August 18, 1997, in Sievierodonetsk, Luhansk region, Mykola Litovchenko began his athletic career in 2008, training at the Eastern Ukrainian branch of the 'Dragon and Tiger' World Gung-Fu School. His coaches were Denis Chuchin and Andriy Serbin. At just 16 years old, he won two gold medals at the WPKA World Junior Kickboxing Championships, demonstrating exceptional talent and dedication. He earned the title of Master of Sport.

Three years ago, Mykola moved with his family to Irpin, starting a new chapter in his life. In 2025, he joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine, serving as a drone operator in the 81st Separate Airmobile Siverskyi Brigade of the Air Assault Forces. Known among his comrades by the call sign 'COOK,' he was not only a professional soldier but also a kind, cheerful, and sincere man who loved cooking.

Funeral and Remembrance

A farewell service for Mykola Litovchenko will be held on February 17 at St. Nicholas Church, located at 59 Sadova Street. His ashes will be interred separately at the Irpin Cemetery following cremation. This tragic event leaves a lasting void in the hearts of all who knew him.
