The Heroism of Vladyslav Nezhuta
Vladyslav Nezhuta, a border guard born on March 8, 1993, in Vovchansk, Kharkiv Oblast, demonstrated exceptional heroism and dedication in defending Ukraine's territorial integrity. As a fighter with the 10th Mobile Border Guard Detachment 'Dozor,' he was on the front lines from the first days of Russia's full-scale invasion. He fought to defend the approaches to Kyiv, notably in the areas of Horenka and Stoyanka, where he provided cover for anti-aircraft units and rescued wounded comrades under heavy fire.
From late April 2022, Nezhuta continued his service on the Kharkiv front, participating in repelling enemy attacks and liberating occupied territories in the region. Tragically, on May 18, 2022, during an offensive near the village of Dementiivka, his unit came under intense tank and artillery fire, resulting in his fatal wounding. His story is one of thousands from the ongoing war, highlighting the immense personal cost of Ukraine's defense.
