A fatal traffic accident in Chernivtsi has claimed the life of a 24-year-old man driving a BMW. According to law enforcement, an 18-year-old female driver of a Mazda caused the crash by making a dangerous overtaking maneuver, which forced the BMW 530D off the road. The BMW's driver lost control and collided with a MAN truck. Tragically, he succumbed to his injuries while in the ambulance.

The collision occurred on Lukiyanovych Street. The deceased driver, Mykola Reveha, was a chief master sergeant and a rescuer with Ukraine's State Emergency Service (DSNS) in the Chernivtsi region. He was on his way to a 24-hour duty shift at the time of the crash. As police spokesperson Myroslava Ivanchuk noted,

"Mykola was behind the wheel, driving to his daily duty shift."

Two passengers in the BMW also sustained physical injuries in the accident.
