The Death of Artur Petrov

Artur Petrov, a Ukrainian soldier and well-known stand-up comedian, was killed on March 18 while evacuating wounded soldiers in Kupiansk-Vuzlovyi. He had been serving in the 43rd Separate Mechanized Brigade since April of last year. His wife, Kateryna Yablinska, confirmed his death.

Petrov was not only a soldier but also a prominent figure in Ukrainian comedy. He had over seven years of performance experience with 'Underground Stand-Up' and appeared on several popular television shows, including:

  • 'Make the Comedian Laugh'
  • 'Goodnight Club'
  • 'Million-Dollar Comedian'

He also worked as a writer for the television program 'I Am Ashamed of My Body'.

"Dear friends, colleagues, and acquaintances of Artur, and to all who loved his stand-up. I am Katia, Artur's wife. On March 18, Artur was killed in Kupiansk-Vuzlovyi while evacuating the wounded. He had been in the military since last April, and for the last few months served with the 43rd Separate Mechanized Brigade. I will announce the details for his memorial service once he is brought home. Please remember him for his humor."

Artur Petrov is survived by his wife and two young children. The news of his death was reported by the Ukrainian media outlet 'Glavcom'.
