Killed at the Front: The Story of Rostyslav Artym, a Lviv Resident Who Defended Ukraine

Rostyslav Artym was born on January 27, 1992, in Lviv. Growing up in this cultural city, he received his education at Lyceum No. 18 of the Lviv City Council. After completing his studies, he obtained a qualification as an automotive repairman and a crane operator. In his youth, Rostyslav served in the military, which became his first step towards further service in the armed forces.
Service and Death
In 2024, he decided to defend his homeland by joining the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Rostyslav fought in the Kursk direction as part of the 103rd separate territorial defense brigade and later continued his service in the Donetsk direction as part of the 82nd separate airborne assault Bukovynian brigade. His participation in combat actions was a manifestation of deep patriotic consciousness and devotion to his country.
After his death, Rostyslav Artym was buried on January 12, 2026, at Lychakiv Cemetery, in the field of honorary burials No. 87. He was survived by his mother and two brothers who will remember him as a hero who gave his life for the freedom and independence of Ukraine. The memory of Rostyslav continues to live in the hearts of his loved ones and the entire community, which honors his feat and appreciates his contribution to the struggle for peace and security in Ukraine.
