The fallen defender of Ukraine, Ivan Zarivnyak, gave his life for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of the country. He served in the 3rd separate assault brigade of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Ivan Zarivnyak, born on July 6, 1988, lived in Lviv. He graduated from a lyceum and Lviv National University. He worked as a sales manager and was known for his dedication and support of the football club 'Karpaty'.
Zarivnyak decided to defend his homeland from the first day of the invasion of Russian occupiers. He participated in battles in the southern Slobozhansky and Donetsk directions.
A representative of the Futsal Association of Lviv shared memories of the fallen hero: 'Ivan Zarivnyak was known not only as a warrior but also as an athlete who always gave his all, both on the sports field and in everyday life.'
Zarivnyak was awarded the Golden Cross by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. While carrying out a combat mission in the Kharkiv direction, he was killed and buried on the Defender's Day of Ukraine.
