Ukrainians honor the memory of all those killed in the Russo-Ukrainian war every day at 9 a.m. This time we will remember Valeriy Zvozdetskyi.
Senior soldier Valeriy Zvozdetskyi died on March 29, 2025, as a result of shelling. A resident of the village of Dobrynivtsi in the Zastavniv region, he chose a life as a volunteer at the front, believing in his duty to defend his native land. Having a legal education, Valeriy decided to serve on the front line, helping internally displaced persons and residents.
In 2022, he joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine and served in the 68th Separate Jaeger Brigade under the call sign 'Tsvyk'. Unfortunately, Valeriy died at the combat position, giving his life for Ukraine. His relatives remember that he never complained, was proud of his service, and loyal to his duty. He was buried in his native village, and Ukrainians honor the memory of the fallen by laying flowers and lighting candles to pay tribute to the heroes who gave their lives for the freedom and independence of Ukraine.
“Why should I be in the rear when others are fighting,” he thought, “Valeriy never complained about hardships, was proud to defend his family and Ukraine.”
Shared memory and commemoration of the fallen become an integral part of Ukrainian culture, symbolizing great respect and gratitude to those who give the most for their country.
