Yuriy Krasylnikov: heroic pilot, Hero of Ukraine

Every day at 9 AM, Ukrainians honor the memory of all those whose lives were taken by the Russo-Ukrainian war. Today we remember Hero of Ukraine Yuriy Krasylnikov.

Yuriy Mykolayovych Krasylnikov – a Ukrainian pilot, major of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, participant of the Russo-Ukrainian war, was killed on June 26, 2022, in the Black Sea. This was reported by 'Glavkom' citing the press service of the Tactical Aviation Brigade.

Yuriy Krasylnikov was born on November 14, 1975, in the Russian city of Tambov. In 1982, he started attending school No. 9 in the city of Stryi, Lviv region, which he graduated from in 1992. From 1993 to 1997, he studied at the Kharkiv Institute of Pilots of the Air Force.

From 1997, he served in the city of Kolomyia, Ivano-Frankivsk region. In 2004, he was transferred to Starokostiantyniv. Since 2005, he was part of the 7th Tactical Aviation Brigade, where he held positions as a senior navigator, flight navigator, and head of reconnaissance at the headquarters.

For personal courage and heroism displayed in the defense of state sovereignty, by the decree of the President of Ukraine, Colonel Mykhailo Yuriyovych Matiushenko and Major Yuriy Mykolayovych Krasylnikov were awarded the title Hero of Ukraine with the Order of 'Golden Star' (posthumously).

On August 6, 2023, during the celebrations on the occasion of the Air Forces Day of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky presented awards to the families of the fallen heroes.

'Glavkom' joins in a minute of silence. We honor the memory of all Ukrainians who died in the fight for their homeland. We remember those killed by Russian invaders, lighting candles of memory and bowing our heads in grief during the nationwide minute of silence, honoring the bright memory of Ukrainian citizens who gave their lives for the freedom and independence of the state: all military personnel, civilians, and children, all who died in the fight against Russian occupiers and as a result of the enemy's attack on Ukrainian cities and villages.
