Avalanche Threat in Transcarpathia

The Transcarpathian region has declared an avalanche threat from January 2 to 4. According to rescue services, a low (Level I) avalanche risk has been established in the highlands of the eastern part of the region. This means that during these days one should be particularly cautious when staying in the mountains, as even small snow masses can provoke avalanches.

Emergency Situation in Poltava Region

In addition, an emergency situation occurred in the Poltava region on the Dnipro River in the village of Hradiz'k on December 31. Three people, two men and a woman, became stranded on a boat amid the ice, approximately 200 meters from the shore. Rescue services were forced to take action to save the people who found themselves in a dangerous situation.

Both incidents highlight the importance of following safety measures during winter conditions, both in the mountains and on water bodies. Rescue services urge citizens to be vigilant and cautious in conditions of increased risk.

These incidents indicate the necessity for increased caution during the winter period when natural conditions can be extremely dangerous. It is important for citizens to adhere to the recommendations of rescue services and avoid risky situations during outdoor recreation, especially in mountains and on water, where danger can be unpredictable.
