Influenza and COVID-19 Incidence Decreased: Data for the Last Week of 2025
During the week from December 22 to 28, 2025, a decrease in the incidence of influenza, COVID-19, and other ARI was recorded. A total of 120,764 people fell ill, of which 51,110 were adults and 69,654 were children. This indicates a certain stabilization of the epidemic situation in the country.
Specifically, the incidence of COVID-19 decreased by 27%, which accounts for 272 cases. A total of 3,894 patients were hospitalized, including 2,376 children. It is important to note that since the beginning of the epidemic season, which lasts from September 29 to December 28, 2025, 1,593,437 people have suffered from ARI, and 18,938 cases of COVID-19 have been registered.
Prevention and Recommendations
However, despite the decrease in COVID-19 cases, an increase in the incidence of ARI by 5.6% was recorded compared to the same period last year. This underscores the importance of adhering to preventive measures during epidemics.
For those experiencing unpleasant symptoms, it is recommended to consult a doctor. The list of symptoms that may indicate the need for consultation includes:
- muscle and joint aches
- sore throat
- temperature of 38℃ or higher
- cough
- headache
The decrease in COVID-19 incidence may indicate the effectiveness of measures aimed at controlling the epidemic, as well as an increase in the vaccination rate among the population. However, the rise in ARI incidence emphasizes the need to continue preventive measures, especially in the winter period when the risk of illness may increase. It is essential to monitor health closely, especially in vulnerable population groups such as children and people with chronic diseases.
