Train Travel from Lviv to Budapest: A Convenient Route

Oлена Борсюк recently shared her experience traveling by train from Lviv to Budapest via Chop and Zahony on Instagram. The entire trip cost 619 hryvnias and involved several segments. According to her, this rail route presents a comfortable and efficient alternative to bus travel, especially due to shorter border crossing times.

The journey began with a ticket from Lviv to Chop priced at 171 UAH, taking approximately five hours. Next, she traveled from Chop to Zahony for 307 UAH, a short ride lasting about 15 minutes. Zahony station, as Oлена notes, offers pleasant amenities including hot dog stands, clean restrooms, and pet-friendly facilities, making the stopover more comfortable for passengers.

"At the station, we quickly passed through Ukrainian border control and boarded the train. Within 15 minutes, we completed the Hungarian border check onboard the train between Chop and Zahony," Oлена Борсюк shared.

Border procedures are conveniently conducted during the train ride between Chop and Zahony. Ukrainian citizens can travel to Budapest free of charge with a valid Ukrainian passport, only paying 141 UAH to reserve a seat for the final leg. This makes the train an especially affordable option.

Oлена also highlighted the spaciousness and comfort of the train cars on the segment to Budapest, describing them as roomy and pleasant. "Honestly, there's plenty of space, super comfortable. This trip is much easier than taking that awful bus," she commented. Her Instagram post attracted nearly 30,000 likes, reflecting strong public interest in this travel option.
