Попередження про сильні морози в Україні: жовті та помаранчеві сигнали небезпеки в умовах холодної погоди.

Frost Warning Issued for Ukraine

The Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center has issued a frost warning, with varying levels of danger in effect from April 11th to 13th. Overnight on the 11th, 12th, and 13th, ground-level temperatures are forecast to drop to 0-3°C (32-37°F), posing a significant threat to agricultural interests. This unusually late cold spell arrives as many crops have already begun their spring growth cycle.

Alert Levels and Regional Forecasts

A Level I (yellow) danger warning has been declared. On the night of April 11th, air frosts of 0-3°C are expected in the following regions:

  • Western
  • Northern
  • Vinnytsia
  • Cherkasy
  • Mykolaiv
  • Odesa

On April 12th, similar air frosts are also possible in the Kharkiv region, where a more severe Level II (orange) danger warning has already been announced.

Meteorologists predict severe frosts at the start of next week, which could damage early-blooming fruit trees. Unstable weather is expected across Ukraine in the lead-up to Easter, bringing cooler temperatures, fog, and overnight frosts.

These frosts could have serious consequences for the agricultural sector, as many orchards and fields have already begun to blossom. Farmers must prepare for potential crop losses, which may impact food security in the regions under warning.

With Easter approaching, the forecast is also causing concern among the public, who are planning holiday events and traditional outdoor ceremonies.

As the frost warnings unfold, it is crucial for residents and farmers to stay informed about the evolving weather conditions.
